I need to get in the habit of using this site!

But I've been painting more lately, trying to stay very grounded when all I want to do is go insane! I've decided to continue working on my Dachshund series, or Dachseries as I stupidly call it.

I have my two series that I want to do, the Dachseries and the Organ series. From now on I think it's going to be a piece by piece ordeal where I work in the series that I'm feeling at the particular moment. If I get a great dach idea, I'll do dogs. Or if I think of an interesting organ composition then I'll go down that route. Of course I'm open to other ideas. I'm pretty much finished with the painting that Albert commisioned to me. Hmm. This is an interesting year! :]

So today I have finally completed my Leslie Hall t-shirt and I am hella excited. It looks better than I thought it could have and hopefully it will impress Ms. Hall. What's funny is that it is reminiscent of the Joker which only makes it even better.

On to other events: this past Sunday I bought my new car ( 2009 Toyota Corolla XRS). It's really shnazzy and has all the comforts I wanted. The GPS gets installed in the next week and then I will feel complete. It will come in handy when I am living the life in San Francisco and completely fucking lost. A downside is that I am beginning to regret not getting a LoJack, especially since Toyotas are some of the most stolen cars. x.x Oh well, I hope things wont turn out that way.

Flash forward to today. I needed a haircut but my regular lady wasn't at Supercuts so I was forced to take a chance with someone new and BOY DO I REGRET IT. As my coworker Rollieca says, "When you go to SuperCuts you come out looking like a SuperFuck." The back is WAAAY shorter than I wanted and I don't have any time to let it grow out because the Leslie Hall show is tomorrow. Pretty sure that I am overreacting but that is how I be rollllin'.

Random note: Whenever I sing the Twinkle Twinkle song at work for the kids I have the biggest compulsion to change the ending lyrics from "How I wonder what you are" to "how I wonder what you is." I am such an awful teaching assistant.

I've come to the unfortunate realization that my life is unfortunately filled with flakes. Let me explain.

Last night Alex had to move out of his old apartment and into a new one. So our night consisted of moving stuff and cleaning, with Alex, me, and his younger brother doing a majority of the work. This seems quite pathetic noting that there are three other roommates who should have been helping. Alex's "friend" Kate was one of the roommates and also on the lease with him. Now she started out cleaning the place and moving her crap out, but then around 11:30pm Alex calls her and she lies to him stating that her car tire blew out and expected us to put all of her possessions onto the balcony. Alex was noticably pissed off and started to break her shit. Ten minutes later Kate rushes into the house, grabs two things, and speeds off in her car. This resulted in us tossing all of the shit she left behind in the dumpster. What kind of person do you have to be to leave all of your stuff for someone else to take care of? Life would be pretty damn awful if everybody was like Kate and just expected someone else to take care of her things. So that was my Friday night.

Flash forward to Saturday morning when I'm online and talking to Jesse (he's my friend whose letting Alex, Jeni, and I stay with him in San Francisco for spring break). I send him a message saying how excited I am to go up there and visit and see my, hopefully, new town of existence. He lets me know that he cannot have three people stay with him AFTER the fact that he had said it was okay for me to bring two people. What a fucking asshole. So now I have to get a hotel when he had originally discouraged it. Jeni, Alex, and I can hold our own, so I think we should go up there and forget about him.

I think that Kate and Jesse should become roommates.

So, today is Sunday and, invetiably, all sundays begin the same way. Saturday night is a positive affair and the notion of sleeping in the next morning is an excellent feeling. However, I am awaken at 7 because my dog is whining and whimpering for food. As I barely open my eyelids into little slits, I pour some dog food into a bowl and make sure she eats and shits before I hop back into bed. The next time I usually wake up is 11 and I realize that a majority of the day is missing. Oh well, I figure, I will just waste the day on my computer and in my book anyways.

Today did have a new revelation, however. I browsed upon a disgusting celebrity gossip website, as I normally do, and found that one of my favorite singers, Sia, is a lesbian! And to top it off she is really 32! It was like my mind was blown away. I never had expected Sia to be gay [Tyra, yes but definitely NOT Sia]. Furthermore I always envisioned Sia as being much younger than she really is. Anyways, I guess it is a good thing that she came out because it just makes me feel "closer" too her (if that makes any sense). Sia is cute and has a really interesting personality so if I was a girl, I would definitely hit it.

Another good part of today happened when I polished and finished my stencil of Leslie Hall. It is much more refined and thus easier to cut out with an exacto blade. Now I just need to get a new blade, and hard surface to cut upon, paints and a shirt.

Leslie Halls amazing video for Zombie Killer, featuring Elvira. I have 3 weeks to master her outrageous dance moves. I want to embody the gold pants!

Currently, it is hard for me to imagine life without a little Leslie Hall in it. Ms. Hall is an art student who came to fame by wearing gold pants and rapping about "Gem Sweaters" (we already have so much in common). Of course I had heard of her a while ago but never thought much of her shtick until recently. She is just damn hilarious...so when I saw she was going to be playing in Los Angeles I HAD to pick up some tickets from me and two of the closest people in my life: Alex and Jeni. I realize that Alex and Jeni do not find Leslie Hall as funny as I do, but that sure enough didn't stop me from buying tickets for them.

Of course, I can't show up to a Leslie Hall show without some sort of gem sweater or custom made shirt, so I decided to make a stencil with which I could cut out and paint onto a shirt. Here's what I have so far.

I played around with two different pictures in order to come up with the right face I wanted. I took the hair and glasses from an older picture and then super-imposed the eyes and mouth from a more recent photo. I pretty much like the outcome and hope that I can transfer it onto a shirt with minimal changes. Of course I most like wont make the hair as detailed as I would like (just because it can be so damn difficult cutting with an xacto knife) but it'll have the same shape and convey the same image. I now need to decide what color paints I want to use, what color shirt I want, and if I should add text or not. Of course I'm a fucking perfectionist so I'll never be fully decided until I just pick something and paint it. The show is March 7th so I have a good 3 weeks to make up my mind. :]

I've been thinking about slapping my thoughts onto my computer screen for a while, yet I've always felt a lot of hesitation. Sure I'm a good writer, but when it comes to writing about myself it seems that I cannot with my fingers very well. Hopefully this is a change. I idolize Jeni's ability to engage the keyboard with her precious fingers, and she is the sole reason I decided to create this thing.

Here's to history in the making.
